As its name suggests, Middle Reef is positioned between Panorama Reef and Abu Kafan. The north side features a stunning drop-off adorned with beautiful coral formations, while the east and west sides boast exquisite hard coral gardens, bordered by acropora and brain coral. Toward the end of the dive, you can follow the wall at a depth of 6-7 meters, where sandy channels lead into the reef, forming small caves and passages known as “Swiss cheese.” These can be explored for a unique diving experience. The south side gradually descends to a drop-off at 30 meters, with drift dives possible along the west and east sides.
Middle Reef is a hub of marine activity. Tuna and groups of barracudas are frequently spotted here, along with giant moray eels swimming freely over the plateau. Eagle rays occasionally glide through, and on the reef slope, you might encounter an octopus or cuttlefish. This site is perfect for those looking to immerse themselves in the vibrant underwater ecosystem of the Red Sea.
